Greens dropping LESS? - Guild Wars Forums

I'm sure there's a post about this already, but since search is disabled...and I couldn't find a post...here goes.

A guildie and I have been trying to farm greens and elites this weekend. Together, we've killed over 50 bosses so far. So between both of us, that's over 100 boss kills.

Not one single green drop. Not one. And as I go through, I check the wiki, every boss we have killed has a green.

I checked with the rest of our guild, and everyone is noticing that greens do not seem to be dropping at all for them. One guy got one to drop after killing the same boss 32 times solo. Does that seem like double green drops?

I bet your hechies stole them all. Ask them to empty their pockets before going into town. And if Devona is in your party you may have to use violence. She is such a thief..!

Double a minor chance random drop randomly assigned to a specific group member does not mean they are going to be common. Still fairly elusive IMO.

yeah, we have 6 heroes between the two of us, but still....100 bosses, and no greens for either of us? I must have real back luck...of course, don't even get me started about lockpick retention rates....lol

You are doing it wrong. Use a build capable of killing the boss solo or duo if you go with a buddy, call everything except the boss, and then flag them out of radar range. Try not to use spirits or minions if you can, since you can't control what they attack as well. Drops can't be assigned to your H/H if they are not in radar range, and your chances will significantly improve.

Greens have a low drop rate. Doubling the chance still results in a low chance to drop.

Can get up to 3 greens from a single group in DoA atm... So no, greens are definitively dropping more.

Same for me have soloed Exuro 50 times 25 in NM and 25 in HM and no green drop I've tried taking out the patrolling titans first also then his group and still nothing.

I learned this the hard way last time. Greens, don't expect to get them ever. And double a small number is still a small number.

Greens are cheap and will only get cheaper, no reason to ever farm them. Just go to Spamadan and put out a WTB and you can get them by the hundreds.

idk what you're talking about.... i've gotten 3 greens this weekend while doing primary quests with a party of heros and henchies... i wasn't even trying to farm them

A little math. You kill 50 bosses with 3 heroes.
That means of the times the boss could drop an item, a player got 12.5 drops and a hero got 37.5 items, not including the times that no item would drop at all.

Greens would have to have a drop rate of 4% (and 8% at this double weekend) for you to "expect" to have gotten a green by now. Its been well documented that the rate is far below that.

I got Spiriteater's green in 2 runs

but when I tried to do Syss Coiled Grasp... he never dropped his green yet... and I need that green for my rit... about 15-20 solo runs now...

btw i'm using sliver perma

The drop rate of greens is pretty nuts. Sometimes I do 10 runs and get 3-4 greens. Sometimes I do 100 runs and only get 1-2 greens. I H/H for speed and flag them away before I finish off the boss.

Also, H/H take more drops than a party of humans. When I play in groups, I tend to get a good amount of drops (atleast 1 drop every 13 kills) but with H/H I might go 30 kills without a single drop.

I hate the way drops work in guildwars and wish it was fixed. But thats not gonna happen. Solo is the only answer.

I miss the factions drop rate days. I farmed wing axes for a single week. 5 days. I ended up with 31 wing axes and sold 30 of them for 5k each. Ah, good times.

Back when zealots was good 5/-1. Before they made zealot into garbage. 1/-1 sucks.

I found a green drop on accident. The chances are there, but still unlikely to find.

I worked on survivor 3 this weekend (got it about an hour ago, woo) and I killed in the neighborhood of 60 bosses (with h/h). I got one whole green to show for it -- Onwa's Aegis. I don't know if that means they're dropping less, but it was a little bit weird :P

@The Air Revenger Its actually been well documented. Kepkhet often does drop multiple copies of her green, nothing to do with the weekend.

I went out and cleared Unwaking Waters (explorable) with heroes and hench, just mucking about in normal mode. Got Rajazan's Fervor, a green I've been wanting for years.

Went and played in Morostav Trail, got Kyril's Fervor. Again, full party of heroes and hench.

Decided I wanted to get a green spear, so went into Dejarin Estate and killed Corporal Luluh a dozen times (including three or four times solo with my perma-sin). No green. But I did get Podaltur's Fury after the last trip. I got tired of killing the bosses near the fort and went out to kill other bosses.

Considering that I almost never get greens, this is a huge increase.

And that's funny. The very first time I killed Corporal Luluh today with my perma-sin, got the spear. Yay.
